The two rooftop projects
Text adventure
Build a small text adventure that runs in the terminal: a prison escape through five rooms. You read commands from standard input, one per line, and print what happens.
- Starts in the Cell and prints its name.
- go moves between connected rooms.
- take, drop and inventory manage items.
- The locked door needs the key.
- Unknown commands are handled.
- Reaching the exit prints the win line with the move count.
- The scripted walkthrough in the brief produces exactly the transcript shown.
Maze generator and solver
Write a program that reads a size and a seed, carves a random maze with a recursive backtracker, finds the shortest path through it with a breadth-first search, and prints both as ASCII art. Because the random numbers come from a fixed generator, the same seed must always give the same maze, byte for byte.
- Rejects invalid sizes.
- Prints a maze of the right dimensions.
- The maze is a perfect maze (every cell is reachable).
- The solver finds the shortest path.
- Output is identical for the same seed.
- The path is drawn with dots.
Questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in your browser. For the projects you can also work on your own computer and upload your files.
Can I skip what I already know?
Yes. Once you own a tower, each floor has a skip test: score 8 out of 10 and that floor opens.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds within 5 days of purchase. After 5 days, no refunds or returns.
Do I keep access?
Yes. A tower you buy is yours, with no subscription.
